Red Canyon Lodge
Bed and Breakfast, Parowan, Utah

Innkeepers Pat and Ken moved from La Canada, in southern California to Parowan, Utah, in the southern part of the state to build their dream log home.

“Ken and I wanted to be closer to our extended family who had moved to southern Utah. We discussed how we could shift from the frantic pace of city life to a more laid-back lifestyle for our 2 boys. We feel Red Canyon Lodge bed and breakfast is an extension of our home and our family.

As innkeepers, we have the opportunity to meet new and interesting people from all over the world. We both love to cook and Ken is a big help to me in the kitchen. Serving our guests a nice breakfast with interesting conversation is a true pleasure, “ Pat says.

The construction process for Red Canyon Lodge took about 18 months and involved many details. The Lodge is made of solid, full milled logs from southwest Colorado, the décor is inviting and cozy and guests feel at home right away.

Some of the special features of Red Canyon Lodge include:

  • the central Great Room which showcases a two-story, masonry wood-burning fireplace. This large room, where guests love to gather, is filled with Ducks Unlimited art pieces, Western and Native American cultural items and beautiful photos of local native wildlife found in the Dixie National Forest

  • a fully carpeted loft library with a large picture window and seat. Relax and take in an incredible view along the foothills of the mountains leading to Parowan. The library is stocked with books, card and board games and puzzles. Sink into our comfortable couches and select from a variety of new or classic, DVD or VHS movies

  • our spacious dining room includes three large picture windows where guests can enjoy panoramic views of the valley and mountains beyond, during breakfast and throughout their stay.

  • the covered porches provide a charming spot to sit and take pleasure in the sights and gardens

Pat and I feel that, “Southern Utah is a rich and scenic part of the American West. After your first visit, you will find what we discovered. You appreciate the picturesque and delightful vistas of this part of the country, and then you realize you want to return to experience them again during all of the seasons throughout the year.

“We are celebrating our 5th Anniversary June 1, 2007 and we plan to expand to add more rooms to accommodate family reunions and small groups. We would like to offer interesting experiences such as girlfriend weekends, champagne and chardonnay getaways, and chocolate fondue tastings!” exclaims Ken.
